it look like you did the same thing as opening up the lens to restrict DOF, right?
i suppose you know what tilt-shift is usually used for...

i did the tilt shift as a post process on photoshop
umm no i dont really know what its used for lol, i just thought it looked kwl

very often tilt shift is used for extra wide DOF, also for correction of converging lines in architectural photography, and other things too.
